Upgrades in Critical Checkout Databases in the UK May 6, 2026 16:00-19:00 PDT

We will be performing scheduled database maintenance beginning 4 PM PT on May 6, 2026. This work involves several production database clusters that support Checkout in the UK region to ensure adequate capacity and performance.

The total maintenance window is expected to last 3 hours with an expected downtime of up to 1 minute. Actual user impact is expected to be minimal, as failovers typically complete in under one minute and application retries will mitigate transient errors.

We will be performing scheduled database maintenance beginning 11 PM PT on May 6, 2026. This work involves several production database clusters that support Checkout in the US and CA region to ensure adequate capacity and performance.

The total maintenance window is expected to last 4 hours with an expected downtime of up to 5 minutes. Actual user impact is expected to be minimal, as failovers typically complete in under one minute and application retries will mitigate transient errors.

Update - PIN retry rates for users in US remain unchanged. There is a central point of failure effecting multiple 3rd party SMS providers. Users who retry are successfully completing checkouts. We will continue to monitor the situation and update as it progresses.
